Framebridge for Valentines Day

FramebridgeI absolutely adore Valentines! A day dedicated to love and togetherness has always been one of my favorites. Whether I was celebrating it with a man or my girlfriends I try to make it as special as possible. Every year I take my time trying to come up with that one, special gift which will let my loved ones know how much they mean to me and this year I think I hit the jackpot!

If you follow this blog or follow me on Instagram you know that I absolutely love travel and travel photography! One of the main things my husband and I have in common is our passion for travel and seeing the world! Brice, my husband, has mentioned numerous times that we should dedicate a wall in our home to hanging a photo from each of our travels. I always thought this was a brilliant idea but I never wanted to deal with the hassle of finding someone to print the photos, paying someone to frame them, and then having to deal with picking them up. This headache has allowed me to go almost 7 years without printing out one of our many travel photos!

I had heard about printing and framing websites before but every time I went to their webpage I was overwhelmed by their process and underwhelmed by their pricing! It wasn’t until I decided to give Frambridge a try that I was completely blown away by an online printing and framing service. From the first minutes of uploading your photos to the final ordering, the entire process was so user-friendly! Their easy photo uploader and 31 framing options might be enough to impress you, but  what really sealed the deal for me was their pricing! We all know how expensive framing can be so I was blown away by their fair and competitive pricing.

After the ordering was complete I did get a little nervous at how the print quality would turn out. However, when they arrived my worries were laid to rest! The photo quality was exceptional! I couldn’t have paid someone a thousand dollars to do any better! If you are nervous about the quality – don’t be! They recommend the best size frame for your photos pixels to keep your photo at top quality!

Since I couldn’t wait to give Brice the photos, we shared Valentines a little early this year! He absolutely loved each one and was also blown away at how well they did! We have already placed our second order and can’t wait to fill our wall with all of our special travel memories!

** One of the really unique framing options they are offering this year is the Heartstagram! Take a photo from your Instagram and perfectly fit it into a heart shaped liner! This would be perfect for your best friend, mother, or significant other! Since Brice and I don’t like having photos of ourselves splashed across our home I created one little heartstagram from our past trip to Nantucket! It fits perfectly on his nightstand and is a beautiful reminder of the prettiest sunset we have ever seen!
If this is something you want to share with someone who means the world to you, hurry and order! The last day to place your order and receive before Valentines Day is 2.7.16!

Hafner Holiday Tablescape

Hosting parties is, as my friend Molly says, my bliss. I really love it! It must be a heredity thing because I grew up with a mom who was the same. She is infamous for her parties. People still talk about when we see them. They were absolutely fabulous and her guest knew they were always in for a really fun night. The two things she taught me about hosting a great party: create a beautiful table and always put your guest first.

My mom has created some of the most gorgeous tablescapes I have ever seen. She has a real eye for it. Everything from the china, to the silver, to the candles and flowers is all perfectly placed. When I decided to host a holiday party for a small group of our friends I decided to make the tables decor minimal. I had seen this live garland at Trader Joes and knew it would be perfect on the center of the table. Since there were 19 of us fitting into my home I knew the table needed to feel open and minimal so the guest didn’t feel squished. The garland ended up being the perfect touch. I added a few ornaments from Target and some glitter branches from West Elm to add the finishing “festive” touches.

To ensure the guest enjoyed their evening we tried to think of everything. We found a bartender (thank you Ashley) who was the perfect touch! He made amazing holiday drinks and really added to the overall vibe of party. If you can find a local bartender for your party I really recommend it. They ease your stress of making drinks and pouring wine during dinner and really set the tone for the party! Since we wanted our guest to feel taken care of we had him pass out dessert drinks in small shooter glasses the guest could sip on while opening their White Elephant gifts. And to end the night with no hangovers we handed out bottled water with Aspergic (a swiss remedy) attached to the top. These small details really let your guest know you were thinking about them. Putting them first when you are planning your event is so important for the flow, atmosphere, and overall success of the party. It is all about the little details!! Lesson numero uno!

While I still think I have a lot of lessons to learn from my mom (and mother-in-law who also throws the best of the best parties) I consider the evening a success! We all had a lot of laughs and memories were made! Until next time…

Dorothy Shain Art

I first met Dorothy as a Kappa at SMU. I remember always thinking how happy and absolutely beautiful she was. She was a natural beauty who never needed an ounce of make-up. Every time I was around her I remember walking away thinking to myself how much I loved her energy. She oozes positive, happy, and supportive vibes. A girl you definitely want to get to know. I was a few years older than Dorothy so I didn’t have much time to really get to know her as well as I would have liked but I always knew that she was going places. She wasn’t scared to beat to her own drum and be herself – and those are the ones you have to watch!

It wasn’t until I stumbled upon her on Instagram that I found out what she had been doing these past few years. I was astonished that this sweet, kind, and beautiful girl was also an amazing, talented, budding artist. I mean, she has real talent! It was Dorothy who ended up making the first move and shooting me an e-mail. Thank God! I didn’t want to be that older sorority sister who became the stalker! ha, just kidding! But really, I was very happy to hear from her and re-connect! She ended up telling me all about her latest adventures as an artist living in one of my favorite cities, Charleston (see her amazing Charleston collection here). I knew I needed a piece and so we settled on Rolling Stones – all too fitting!

I absolutely love my selection as it fits perfectly with the rest of our colors throughout the house. She really could not have done a better job! I love that I something of hers as it so special to have something from an old sorority sister (an an up-and-coming artist 🙂 )! I can not wait to follow her journey as an artist as I know she only has great things heading her way!
