I have always been fascinated by photography. I have spent countless hours studying photographs of people, while considering the angles, the lighting, and the editing the photographer used. I love the fact that photography has the amazing ability to transport us to a different time, or place with one single shot.
It was not until I started blogging that I decided to take photography more seriously. With camera in hand, I started experimenting with photographs of my apartment, of friends, and family. It was after experimenting in this way that I realized my passion for photography. I have no formal training or background in this field, but I realize that passion can open your eyes to the impossible, so not only did I invest in the proper equipment I also spent the necessary time to learn everything I could to enhance the skill it takes to be proficient with this passion.
I enjoy, and appreciate the opportunity to photograph bloggers, couples, influencers who make an impact in their profession, families, and also lifestyle type setting. I take an individual approach to each person I photograph. I make every effort to embrace and highlight the focus of what they are trying to convey to their audience with each session.
I look forward to working together and capturing the potential magnificence of your moments through my eyes and the lens of my camera.
If you have been reading this blog you know I am excited about decorating my office. I can’t seem to get motivated about much lately but something about this office gets me going. I already bought a lucite tray to hold magazines and candles and my latest addition is the Philippe Starck ghost chair. My sweet fiance gifted me this as a birthday present. After the wedding it will be the perfect place to sit on a Sunday afternoon and catch up on e-mails, blog, and anything else I need to do.
I know you are probably looking at this picture and thinking, “what the… isn’t this a fashion blog?” To that, yes it is, and it always will be but I am also a 25 year old trying to figure out life. Yes, life. I know you are rolling your eyes right now thinking, “Oh no, not this kind of post. Someone else ‘trying’ to figure out life–uhg.” Now, hold your horses, this isn’t that kind of post–just keep reading. My favorite part about fashion and blogging is that they allow you to be inspired. When featured on various blogs I’m often asked, “where do you get your inspiration from?” and my answer is always the same; every day people. I find that every day people, whether it’s through their clothes, actions, or artistry, provide an incredible amount of inspiration. Now, back to being 25. Sometimes it is so hard to know what it is you are suppose to be doing, want to be doing, and should be doing. That little voice inside will tell you what you love but reality makes it seem impossible to grasp. Everyone always tells you to, “chase your dreams and don’t stop until you reach them.” I love hearing this but sometimes I find it overwhelming. Because of this, I felt compelled to start the series, M.A.S. Interview’s. This will be a feature of someone I find inspiring and think you should know. Every person I have lined up has listened to that little voice inside and followed their passions and dreams. I hope you enjoy this new addition and get inspired along the way.
First off the engagement shoot was a blast. I told Brice I fell more in love with him that day because he was so willing to participate. Taylor, our photographer, said they came out great but I don’t get to see proofs for another two and a half weeks so we will see. Fingers crossed we got one good one out of the 4,000 she took :). Taylor could not have been more amazing to work with. By the end of the day we were literally finishing each others sentences. She made us both feel so at ease and comfortable we forgot there was a photographer in the room. I can’t wait to see them!!!
Okay, now back to the fashion. There are items in your closet you wonder if you will ever wear again. It could be an old sweater from a few years ago that is too snug or a blazer you wonder if it will ever be in style again? My item is my old riding boots from when I was fifteen. I grew up riding horses and re-discovered the lace-up boots in my parents garage last year. Something about their distressed and worn in aesthetic made me grab them to bring back to Dallas. Since the lace-up style is actually in right now I have been wearing them with my skinny jeans and t-shirts. The vintage vibe makes them a really cool addition to any ensemble.
