Year in Review :: 2013

Year-in-Review

What a year it has been! From becoming a wife to a new aunt, to a new career and a new blog re-design, I am not sure I could of had a better year! As I sit and reflect I am beyond grateful for all of the love and support I have received in 2013. Thank you for sticking by me through it all! I know people say, “I hope next year is even better,” but if 2014 is as good as 2013,  I will be so lucky! Cheers, salut and chien chien to 2014! xx

WEDDING :: Portraits

I am from Texas, where brides have lots of bridesmaids. Brice is from Switzerland, where having a large wedding party is not traditional. This was our first matrimonial compromise.  To stick with said compromise we decided to have two groomsmen and two bridesmaids. I actually loved this idea because I think having a smaller group makes the overall feel more intimate. Since I have a larger group of close friends, and wanted them to be included, I asked them to be in my house party (which still walked down the aisle). I know having your friends stand behind you is an honor, but I must admit, being able to turn to my right and see all of my family and close friends made the evening that much more special.
Now for something else fun, I participated in a super fun interview over on my friend’s blog, Caviar Taste, Tuna Fish Wallet (how cute is that name)? If you want some more M.A.S. please do go check it out!

Nieves Lavi + Anthroplogie

This week’s In My Closet, is literally, in my closet. I received this beautiful dress in the mail a few weeks ago and oowed and awed over it! It is the proud product from the collaboration between New York-based contemporary design label, Nieves Lavi and Anthropologie. Nieves Lavi boasts cult followers like, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba, and Kelly Ripa, so needless-to-say the collaboration was highly anticipated. AND.IT.DELIVERED. You all know I am usually not a pattern girl, always trying to stick with basics, but I loved how the colors and pattern-mixing went together so cohesively.  I haven’t had time to shoot this piece in an outfit but I was too excited not to share it!

Since I talk all the time on this blog, I thought I would let the experts tell you about all of the goodness this dress can offer: We can’t resist a dress that goes from al fresco brunch to evening soiree without missing a beat. Nieves Lavi’s silk shift plays it cool with beaded sandals by day, then dresses up with baubles and a shimmery clutch when the sun goes down.”
