I have always been fascinated by photography. I have spent countless hours studying photographs of people, while considering the angles, the lighting, and the editing the photographer used. I love the fact that photography has the amazing ability to transport us to a different time, or place with one single shot.
It was not until I started blogging that I decided to take photography more seriously. With camera in hand, I started experimenting with photographs of my apartment, of friends, and family. It was after experimenting in this way that I realized my passion for photography. I have no formal training or background in this field, but I realize that passion can open your eyes to the impossible, so not only did I invest in the proper equipment I also spent the necessary time to learn everything I could to enhance the skill it takes to be proficient with this passion.
I enjoy, and appreciate the opportunity to photograph bloggers, couples, influencers who make an impact in their profession, families, and also lifestyle type setting. I take an individual approach to each person I photograph. I make every effort to embrace and highlight the focus of what they are trying to convey to their audience with each session.
I look forward to working together and capturing the potential magnificence of your moments through my eyes and the lens of my camera.
This will be short and sweet today! I am running out the door as I type but I couldn’t miss an opportunity to chat about my favorite new closet staple! Can’t you tell how much I love my ASOS Vila duster? Just scroll a few posts down and you can see it paired similarly. I actually first noticed dusters in the spring. I loved seeing street style pictures with girls and these long silky jackets. They didn’t weight down the look and they always looked amazing. I bought my first duster from Need Supply at the beginning of the summer and practically wore it out. It traveled everywhere from Brazil, California, Switzerland, Paris, Normandy, and back to Dallas. They are one of the most versatile pieces I own and look good no matter the outfit (seen here in blue). If your minimalist outfits need an extra boost – consider a duster!
When I get overwhelmed or uninspired I go through travel photos. Something about knowing all the beauty that I have yet to see in this world makes me happy and rejuvenated. There are so many beautiful places to go and cultures to see, I get giddy at the idea of how much travel I have left to do. Since today is Monday and we could all use a dose of inspiration I though I would share my five favorite photos of the moment.
Bruges, Belgium Because of all the water canals that flow through the city, it shares the nickname as, “Venice of the North.” Bruges, is also the most preserved medieval city in western Europe. The art museums and winding paths woven around ancient building and charming canals make this city a top tourist destination. However, even the most traveled or travelers say it lives up to its hype.
Chamonix, France This is actually a city my in-laws frequent every winter for skiing. Located near the boarder of Switzerland and France, this valley is insanely beautiful! If money isn’t an option and I get the chance to go, I want to stay at this hotel and try restaurant La Cabane des Praz! Even though this valley is best known for its skiing don’t worry if skiing isn’t your thing, the Mer de Glace ice cave will definitely grab your attention!
Chiang Mai, Thailand What you are seeing is the Yi Peng or Yee Peng (local name). This is a festival of lights in Northern Thailand to show respect to Buddha. It looks like such an incredible site to see as all of Thailand gets involved and releases their individual lanterns. If you are planning to see Yi Peng make sure you are going to the right one. They have two separate festivals – one is free and the other is for paying tourists only. The festivals are at different times of year so make sure you research which one you want to go to!
Rudesheim, Germany
How cute is the Drosselhof? It is the oldest wine-tavern of the “Drosselgasse” – built in 1727. Rudesheim Germany is a quaint wine town in Germany. Travelers say the best thing to do in Rudesheim is to allow yourself to get lost in their maze of cobblestone streets and narrow passageways and to frequently pop-in to local pubs for a glass of their own wine!
Lofoten, Norway
This one is a cold one so be prepared! Lofoten is one of the larger cities of Trondheim and is a prime spot for the arctic adventurer: just north of Lofoten is the Arctic Circle. For accommodations you are left with only a handful of small hostels and hotels but that is what makes this destination so appealing. Often we get caught up in dining at the best and seeing the best, but Lofoten is worlds away from all of that. Take in the cool, fresh air of Norway and enjoy the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and tranquil lakes!
I love leather but can’t always afford the real thing. I have one pair of real leather pants and I have practically worn them out. I always turned my nose to coated jeans because I thought they were such a poor imitation, but my mind changed when I saw my friend Krystal wearing a pair last year. They were ah-mazing! They were super fitted, coated perfectly, and looked fantastic! I was sold! I asked her who they were by and she said J.Brand, so of course I had to score a pair! Unfortunately they were sold out in my size so I went with the Rag and Bone Coated Skinny and was very pleased. But this year was my year! I snagged the J.Brand Coated Skinny 40% off and have been wearing them ever since. The subtleness of coating is exactly what any minimalist dresser loves/needs and it adds a really nice touch to an otherwise simple look. So, if you can’t afford leather, don’t like leather, or just wanted a new look I suggested buying a pair of coated skinnies!
