New Orleans French Quarter: Part 1

I loved my time in New Orleans. What a fantastic city with so much to do. I absolutely loved that no matter where you walk there is live music playing and that everyone is there to have a good time, which their energy totally rubs off on you. Whenever I travel I get giddy and inspired by the architecture and people around me. I get excited to bring out my camera and try to capture the essence of that particular place. While in Nola I took so many photos which I am excited to share with you all. I will also be bringing you a “72 hours in the Big Easy” city guide! But for now I hope you enjoy your stroll through the French Quarter!

The French Quarter was one of my favorite places to walk around. The action, the color, the music – it was all amazing! We actually walked around for hours just admiring (and totally gawking) at our surroundings. While the hubs loved another area better (photos on that coming soon) I was totally taken by the F.Q. Since I have so many photos to share this is just the first set. I hope you get a feel of the commotion, the energy, and the beauty!

Hotel Profile: Chateau D’Audrieu

I was lucky enough to stay at Chateau D’Audrieu over the summer while visiting Normandy (guide coming soon) with  my parents and my in-laws. The Chateau was absolutely magical – nothing like any place I had stayed before. I loved the oldness and charm of the entire place. It is extremely quiet and the perfect escape after a long day of visiting the WWII monuments. My favorite part was sleeping with my window open and waking up to the sunset and a light rain. It really was absolutely a dream! And if that wasn’t enough, the food is absolutely divine! If I could recommend two things they would be to take a drink or your coffee in the upstairs sitting room and to rent a bike to ride around the property! Both are breathtaking!

If you are visiting the Normandy area I suggest looking into Chateau D’Audrieu. It made the entire experience that much more enjoyable!

Boots Appropriate

This evening I am headed to a rehearsal dinner where it is “boots appropriate.” Being that I own a pair of English riding boots (from my hunter jumper days) and a pair of fake cowboy boots that I think I got from Steve Madden as a freshman in high school my options are limited. I always love a theme so am disappointed that I don’t have the perfect outfit. I actually bought this dress to wear with these Madewell sandals but when I saw “boots” on the invite – I had a change of heart. I remembered receiving these Sam Edelman Louise boots a few months ago and thought they were the perfect compromise. I love the fringe and they are extremely comfortable for an evening of dancing. I am not 100% sure this is the outfit but it is a definite option! Uhg, I hate these types of decisions!
