What’s In My Suitcase: Paris

I used to take packing so seriously. I would not only stress for weeks before a trip I would make sure I had new pieces and a ridiculous amount of outfit options. While I still plan and think ahead for what I want to pack, the stressing part is gone. As is the overpacking and overbuying. One of the reasons this changed was my evolution from being trendy to adopting a more classic and minimalist approach to fashion. I love finding about six pieces that I can pack and can interchange throughout my trip. Usually this consist of a pair of black pants, blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a black t-shirt, a silk blouse, a light sweater and a coat.

I snapped a few photos of outfits I will be packing for upcoming trips and this all black ensemble is definitely coming with me. Two of the key pieces are from my FAVORITE french brand, Sézane. If you haven’t heard of it yet, just know that you will be thanking me for years to come. They make capsule collections that are literally everything you’ve been dreaming of! The monogrammed bag (which is so gorgeous in person) and the leather sneakers are part of their fall collection. I am telling you, these sneakers are so chic in person. I wore them on a recent trip and by the end of it two of my fellow travelers had purchased them! They can easily be paired with jeans for running around or a dress for a night out.

If you are looking for classic pieces to fill your closet or suitcase, my favorites are Sézane, Modern Citizen, and Everlane.

A Wardrobe Staple: The Trench

There are a few items that I never travel without nor not have in my closet. One of these items is a classic trench coat. This came to my mind the other day when I was helping my mom pack for Paris and realized she didn’t have one. Not only do they keep you dry, but they are a classic staple to any outfit. I will wear mine when I want an extra layer but not a heavy coat, be it raining or sunny. I wore mine all over South Africa (seen above). When packing they are a no-brainer.

I have rounded up a few of my favorites from around the web and all are under $150! You can scroll through the selection and click on any of the photos to shop.

Holiday House – ‘The Best’ Bedroom

Palm Springs has been on my travel list for as long as I can remember. A city full of history, mid-century design, and a relaxing setting. For a city that I had built up so much I wanted to make sure to stay at the perfect spot. I did so much research (I mean hours and hours and hours) and asked around. After receiving feedback on the new Holiday House Palm Springs I decided it was the place. Holiday House had just been designed by the very talented, Mark D. Sikes (who also owns MDS Stripes which I love). From the moment we walked into the the Holiday House, the incredible design takes your breath away. From the wallpapered den, to the picture perfect blue and white bar, to the Mr. Brainwash artwork hanging on the wall, everything is incredible. The service, food, drinks, and design all made it a place I would 100% revisit!
