I have always been fascinated by photography. I have spent countless hours studying photographs of people, while considering the angles, the lighting, and the editing the photographer used. I love the fact that photography has the amazing ability to transport us to a different time, or place with one single shot.
It was not until I started blogging that I decided to take photography more seriously. With camera in hand, I started experimenting with photographs of my apartment, of friends, and family. It was after experimenting in this way that I realized my passion for photography. I have no formal training or background in this field, but I realize that passion can open your eyes to the impossible, so not only did I invest in the proper equipment I also spent the necessary time to learn everything I could to enhance the skill it takes to be proficient with this passion.
I enjoy, and appreciate the opportunity to photograph bloggers, couples, influencers who make an impact in their profession, families, and also lifestyle type setting. I take an individual approach to each person I photograph. I make every effort to embrace and highlight the focus of what they are trying to convey to their audience with each session.
I look forward to working together and capturing the potential magnificence of your moments through my eyes and the lens of my camera.
What a whirl wind of a day in Paris this was! Molly and I walked to the Notre Dame, Louve, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Love Lock bridge, around Le Marais, and then back home. I think we walked all of Paris – with blisters, crazy gypsies, and a constant search for the perfect croissant. I felt terrible for Molly who was wearing a pair of realllllllyyyyy cute boots half a size too small (oh the things we do for fashion). Her feet were in total shock at the amount of walking and were really hurting, but being the trooper she is, she never ONCE complained. I would have been bitching and moaning the entire time! I was really impressed.
Luckily for me I packed a pair of my favorite sneakers on the face of this earth in my suitcase! They double as a chic and edgy accessory as well as a comfortable walking/tourist shoe. My Nike Free Run’s will forever be in every suitcase I pack! They are so light and comfortable that I usually never find myself in pain. You must get a pair for your next expedition!

One of the first things Molly and I did when we arrived to Paris was head to Luxembourg Gardens. We had quite the time getting to our train for Paris. After waking up a little foggy after a very random and unforgettable night we headed to the tube station. My biggest fault when I travel, and one that drives the hubs absolutely bonkers, is that I am not a great planner. I am an, “it all works out in the end, fly by the seat of your pants,” kind of traveler. For my OCD, “print out the itenerary, the train numbers, and the tube stops,” husband, it is a hard concept to grasp! After we got to the tube station and I took us on three different tube lines just to get to our stop (come to find out all we needed was the Picadilly directly to the train staion), we made it to the station. Molly is absolutely one of my favorite people to travel with becuase she never gets too mad and if she is annoyed doesn’t show it. I felt terrible we had to carry our bags all over London but I was happy we finally were at our seat and ready for a looooooong nap. Little did I know our “loooooong nap,” would be cut short by two of the loudest and most annoying kids on the planet. Their parents thought it was cute when they screamed and cooed them when they fought over their toys. I know I am not a mother, so I always hate judging parents or kids who scream, but when you are “foggy” and tired the last thing you have is patience for kids who make it a competition of who can scream the loudest. Molly, my brave friend, continued to tap the kids on the shoulder to say, “shhhhh.” To no avail, these kids were relentless.
When the train finally pulled into the station we jetted off, found a cab, and were off to our Paris home! It was the first time I ever used Airbnb and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. It was really easy to navigate and it has so many options to choose from! I would highly recommend using it for your next travel plans. We finally arrived to the most amazing and beautiful apartment I have ever seen! With high beams and all white decor it really was a dream. Windows covered two of the walls and it was only too perfect when the drapes would blow in the breeze! Seriously, dream-like. I will post pictures of our cute little home but in the mean time you can check out this one. Isn’t it dreamy? Valerie was a dear to work with and I highly recommend considering this apartment for your next trip to Paris. It was walking distance to just about everything!
Since we were tired but didn’t want to waste the day we decided to go to Luxembourg Gardens. It was close enough and we could hit it up before sunset. After a quick and delicious meal at Cave La Bourgogne we decided to take of for the gardens. Of course my, “no directions, or printout” kind of travel caught up with me when I took us in the exact OPPOSITE direction of Luxembourg. After consulting many maps Molly decided to take over the direction part of things going forward. This was more than okay with me because a little known fact about me, I CAN’T READ MAPS! It is embarrassing and not something I am proud of, but it is a fact! I just don’t understand them. I think I missed that lesson in school.
When we arrived to the gardens they were just as I remembered. Beautiful, green, and bustling with people holding hands, laughing, and taking in the view. It was the perfect, sunny day and everyone was out looking to soak up the beautiful weather. Molly and I immediately took out our cameras to capture some of the surroundings. I am not sure I could ever do the gardens justice but I have shared a handful of the fun snaps I captured. After an hour or so in the gardens we decided to hit up a cafe across the street for some coffee (deux cafes s’il vous plait). Perfect!
Well I am finally back stateside and it is Friday! Such a good feeling to finally be home and settling back into normalcy and routine. Our trip was one I will never forget! I laughed yesterday because traveling with a friend is really risky- you either come back closer or wanting to kill each other. Luckily, Molly and I are the first option. She was such an amazing travel companion! Really easy going, didn’t get too frustrated when I got us lost on few occasions, enjoyed the local cuisines with me, knew how to keep me calm when I lost my phone (yes that happened), and made me laugh so much my belly seriously hurt. She is such a great addition to my life in Dallas that I am bursting with happiness! Good girlfriends are seriously the best!
Throughout our trip I wore really comfortable clothing. We did so MUCH damn walking it is nuts I gained 5lbs…I guess that explains how much we indulged in the amazing cuisines. I used to try to look really cute when I would travel. Comfort wasn’t important, fashion was. I ended up with many blisters, tears, and a husband who was quite annoyed with all of my complaining. I have since learned that comfort is key. So instead of those really cute new loafers I bought which still need to be broken in, I will wear my Nike sneakers. And instead of that new and really unpractical sweater I can’t wait to show off, I will wear silk button-up’s and a baggy jacket. Again, comfort is key!
Since I have a serious love for silk button-ups I don’t mind investing in them. I have tried every brand of button-ups: Equipment, Gap, Urban Outfitters, Theory, Club Monaco, Zara, ect. I am not lying when I say I might have at least 50 but only wear four. This is because it is nearly impossible to find a button-up that fits boobs bigger than a B cup. I want a button-up that is slightly blousy, but not so blousy I have no shape, and one that doesn’t pull at the buttons. Sounds easy to find, right? WRONG! This is a search that has continued through many years and many dollars spent. Have you ever noticed the broad range button-ups come in? Either you pay an arm and a leg for silk that will probably fit one size too small or you pay for cheap polyester that has no shape nor feel. I was extremely frustrated with my search until I received an e-mail from Everlane.
Everlane is an online shop that you can sign-up to be a member and shop the goods. And do they have goods! Their Petra tote has a two year waiting list and has been seen on dozensssss of celebs. The tote is amazing but let me chat to you about how great their silk blouses are. I first wore their t-shirts and stocked up on them a few years ago.
