GYPSET

Ever since learning of the term “gypset” from gal pals, Molly and Bradley, I am obsessed! While talking about the pending honeymoons I disclosed where Brice and I were going, to which they both responded, “oh, very gypset.” I said, “No, I don’t think it is jet set.” They said, “No, GYPset.”
I had no clue what this meant but after a quick explanation I was fixated. Gypset is a mix between gypsy and jet-set. It is the idea of a completely free-spirited lifestyle and travel. Tres, perfect!
I have been trying to shop for a few things for the honeymoon with this “gypset” idea in mind. When I came across this Mara Hoffman cover-up I stopped scrolling. I found the perfect piece! I love the idea of throwing this over a swimsuit by the beach or belting it for a casual dinner. The colors and lightness make it the ideal piece for any beach get-a-way.

Nordstrom Bridal Suite

There is something about a bridal suite that really makes the wedding moment special. They are places you think of when you are a little girl and then get excited to visit once you have the ring. I must admit when I started my wedding dress shopping my first instinct was not Nordstroms. However, after referrals and research I found it is a great place to go with a large selection of designers. When I called them I was immediately assigned to Sara, a very sweet and personable stylist who took the time to understand me and what I was looking for. After the initial call I was beyond excited to visit the store and see all of the dresses she was going to hand pick for me. When I arrived she showed me my dresses and it was clear she took her time to think through each decision. I was very impressed that she was able to pick dresses that captured everything I wanted. Did I mention she had a different pair of designer shoes to accompany each dress?
After trying on my dresses I was told many were customizable so I had a lot of fun picking out fabrics and different lace options. My time at Nordstroms was very enjoyable and although my dress does not come from here I recommend it to anyone in the dress process. They are very accommodating and can meet any need or desire you have.

Five Things About M.A.S.

If you know blogging, you know the blog, A Piece of Toast. Not only is it one of my favorites to read but the girls behind it (sisters Molly + Sally) happen to be my good friends. When they tagged me in their “5 things you didn’t know” post, I was nervous and excited!
I love this blog to be an open book and I want you all to feel that you really know me but somethings are better left unsaid. I mean, do you all really need to know that I was pretty much mute until I was six? Probably not, but I figured I would give it a shot. After all the worst that could happen is A) you think I am a weird freak or  B) you feel more connected with me.  Fingers crossed it is B! Here goes…

ONE: I am a self-proclaimed chocoholic! I even have a Pinterest board in its’ honor. I seriously crave it so much that I went to a doctor to make sure it was normal. Come to find out, it isn’t! I was deficient in Chromium. Who knew!

TWO: I have a very active imagination and I think it is important to never lose it. Whether it is through vivid dreams, trying accents, or acting I am constantly using it. I believe the best way to stay young is to never lose what makes you, you. Sometimes that means using your imagination in a playful, goofy, way or using it to build your dreams. To me the most boring people are the ones who can not use their imagination and laugh at themselves which is why I love the quote below so much.

THREE: I have Juvenile rheumatoid Arthritis. I was diagnosed at the age of six and have been battling it since. At times it is very limiting but for the most part I am A okay! I usually don’t tell anyone about it but, hey, we are like family now! I would love to somehow get involved with the foundation one day but in the mean time I will share it here.

FOUR: I secretly wish I was a June Cleaver / walking Pinterest / Betty Homemaker.  They are everything I am not. I don’t enjoy cooking, I am terrible at organization, and my room normally contains a hodge podge of my life. I love girls who can store everything they own in cute little boxes that are labeled and displayed to perfection. My house is full of eclectic things that don’t match, I have papers strung across my desk, and the only thing I can cook well are eggs and grilled cheese.

FIVE: I hate showering. Not that I don’t do it daily or that I don’t love the feeling of being clean but I hate the process and then standing there wet and cold. Once your shower is complete you have to open the door to a freezing cold room, blow dry your hair (and mine takes FOREVER), put body lotion on, face lotion, hand lotion, lip moisturizer, and cuticle oil. I mean, it is all quite daunting if you ask me.

There are my five things! I must admit this was a little harder than I thought but a lot of fun in the end. I hope you all enjoy!

Now for the new victims; Sam, Megan, Becky, Danielle, Ashley, Bethany, Martha. TAG, YOU’RE IT!!

p.s. just found out the bookshelf above, which I swoon over daily, was designed by none other than the amazing blogging duo, Meredith + Gwyneth
