Happy Monday everyone! Today, I am asking for a little bit of YOUR help. I am in a style competition, which I rarely do because they are kind of scary, with two other bloggers and I could use your vote! Since I am in London seeing family, I have not had time to promote this and I am in D.A.L. (dead ass last as my father would say). So this is where you, my amazing and lovely readers, come in. I need your vote! All you  do is click here and follow the very simple instructions. You must have a Facebook account to participate but, I promise, it is super easy. Thank you and mucho love in advance to all those who vote!

If you are in Dallas next Thursday, the 26th, stop by Neiman Marcus downtown for cocktails, food, and lots of fun people! I would love to see you there (details to come).

Halston Heritage dress (via Rent The Runway), Club Monaco belt (similar for less), Celine clutch, Zara shoes, Dana Rebecca necklace

I had a wedding in Dallas this past weekend and I didn’t know it was black tie until three days before. This lack of planning caused a serious meltdown/panic attack. What was I going to wear? When did I have time to shop? S*&%!!!!  I like to know what I am wearing to a wedding about a week in advance. This way I can enjoy the week leading to the big day.  Then, when the wedding comes I am not totally stressing about what to wear. This wedding was not that way. I searched the web all day on Tuesday, but I couldn’t find one thing that I liked or was in budget. My last stop was, Rent the Runway. I have rented from RTR before but I never got to wear the dress because of a stomach bug I had taken on the day of the event. I remembered the dress was really pretty so I gave it another shot. Knowing, this time, I had about three days to receive the dress, I picked the first option that was available for the weekend.

That story leads me to this dress. Hmmmm, print?! I remember thinking the next day, “What the hell was I thinking. I am not a print girl.” I panicked until the day it arrived, which happened to be the day before the wedding. I tried it on with both eyes closed and slowly opened, one.at.a.time. I didn’t love it at first, but I also didn’t hate it. The dress itself was gorgeous, but with so much color and pattern, it was a lot for me to take in at that moment. I ended up letting myself sleep on it and then realized, I didn’t have any other option. It was this dress or my birthday suit. After wearing it around the house for an hour, it grew on me! After getting to enjoy my, “getting ready” process with a bottle glass of champagne, I was reallllly liking the dress. Just kidding. But I did end up totally loving it.

This post was not sponsored by RTR, but I do totally recommend them to all of you! The dresses are gorgeous, the shipping is fast, the return processes is super easy, and they are like 1/3 the price of a normal black-tie dress.
