Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was filled with long walks with my dog and hubs, double dates, and too much eating! Success! Guess what I dug up over the weekend? An outfit from NYFW I never posted. It only seems appropriate to post now, with spring in the air and the weather warming. My last snowy, cold weather picture. I hope I can say the weather will stay warm but with this past winter, anything is possible. If it does turn chilly again, I will be in this look. I absolutely love it! So simple, so comfy, and so me. I wore it to the Blushington event I hosted with a few other blogger friends and received a number of compliments, so I knew it had to be in my bag for FW. The base of the look is my ASOS swing dress – which is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. It is so flowy and pretty when you walk, you can’t help but feel good. Then I threw a sweater over the dress for a bit of texture. This is one of my go-to ways to add warmth and texture to an outfit.  It is really easy and gives you two ways to wear one dress. Badda Bing, Badda Boom! I hope we won’t be needing any more added “warmth” to our outfits but just incase… you are now prepared 🙂

Quote Friday

untitled-4

Whew! It is Friday! I seriously couldn’t wait for today. Not that I have any big plans or had a particularly stressful week, I am just ready for the weekend. I can’t wait to have a weekend full of dates and time spent with my hubs. We have both been traveling so much and had so much work  to get done we haven’t had a lot of time this week to just be and breath. We try to sit down for dinner every night without t.v., cell phones, or any other electronics/distractions. This is something my family did growing up and it was always our time to be together as a family and connect. The hubs and I decided these little moments were extremely important to us as well so we continued the pattern. However, this week we haven’t had a chance to do them – with him catching up on work from being gone and me attending nighttime events. Our schedules have really not connected and it is so hard. You really realize how much you appreciate those few little quiet moments together when you don’t have them. I just want to share the week with my buddy! That is why I am SO excited it is the weekend! We plan on having date night both evenings and hanging out with our little fur baby during the day! How much longer until 6pm?

As I sit here ready to post the last few of my Paris pictures I am a bit sad. The trip is (has been) officially over for a few weeks but I have been putting off posing pictures as if to hang on to the last little bit of it. I had an absolute blast traveling with Molly and being over there.  I am already planning a return visit this summer (along with a few other pit stops). Isn’t it funny how when the entire world feels like it is against you or you are having a total shit moment in life, or everything is going perfectly well, traveling and getting away for a few days is always what you need. Well, traveling and chocolate! 🙂

I think I always get a bit nostalgic after a trip, especially to Paris. I find the city so inspiring that when I come home, I find it hard to keep that level of creative alive. I get really down and wohm wohmpy. So weird right?! All I can think of right now is how I am in a place where I really want to surround myself with cultured, inspiring, and interesting people and things. Those who bring more to the table. It is like a thirst for more! Sounds so weird but it is true – or maybe I just need to find a hobby 🙂 Whatever it is, I feel my “creativeness” is really needing some TLC lately, so I plan to quench it through – taking walks in local parks, listening to live music with friends at the arboretum, having a date night while browsing a museum, taking a painting class, focusing on my french studies, travel, ect. Whatever I can do  to further my creative side. I am sure this feeling will pass but I kind of hope it doesn’t. I like being pushed outside my comfort zone and wanting to see and feel more!

Okay, so this post totally sounds depressing but I swear it isn’t meant to! I am really excited to be home and back with the family! I just love travel so much that sometimes I get myself into those, “travel blues.” Anyways, to this post I say, “Au revoir ma belle Paris! à bientôt.”
