Quote Friday

(Mmm, I love this quote! SO much power in two sentences. Read it a few times and then let your madness become magic).

I am so excited about this weekend. I have been home with the familia for a few days and haven’t sat down once. My mom and I have been busy picking out fabric for her mother-of-the-bride dress, getting our hair done, visiting my brother and sister and more. It has been a whirl wind but so much fun and so good to be home! Something about a weekend with the parents is always just what the doctor ordered.

While shopping, my mom and I tried on this little number for an upcoming bridal shower! It was so cute and the quintessential summer dress, however, recently I have been having a hard time finding dresses I love for the upcoming bridal festivities. Do ya’ll have any recommendations? Maybe something white or lace? Total bridal mode!

If you missed M.A.S. this week you probably didn’t get to discover:

My day in Dallas’s new park + what I wore.
I have some really fun posts coming up on Valentines and a new M.A.S INTERVIEWS! I am also excited to include more pictures in upcoming posts as I am attending a photography class this Sunday. I am so ready to learn all there is about photography. Eek, so excited!
I hope you all have a happy and safe weekend! If you need something to fill your days check out the new additions to the Shopbop sale + The Outnet! They have really treated us to some great products!

Miracle in a bottle

After graduating college my amazing parents went “tough love” on me and decided it was time to cut me off. Subsequently all “extras” that I had once thoroughly enjoyed were cut; which included highlighting my hair. To cut cost I darkened my hair, attempted ombre, and then went completely au natural. Until recently I had not touched my hair in almost two years! eek!

Unfortunately, your natural hair has a tendency to get oily faster so by regularly highlighting it you dry it out which subsequently adds body. After two years of limp hair I decided it was time to take the plunge and go back blonde so I could get my volume back. While at the salon I told my colorist to “dry my hair out.” Laughing at this odd request she introduced me to the AMAZING Oribe Dry Texturizing spray.

Oribe is a miracle in a bottle! It is dry shampoo, and texturizing spray. What that means is you get days of non-oily hair but lots and lots of volume! I introduced it to my mom who now uses it daily and has extra bottles for back-up, should one ever run out.

It is a bit pricey but I promise, seriously promise, you will not be disappointed! I am really picky at what I spend my money on and this is definitely worth every penny! What is even better is it comes in a travel size, so you can throw it in your purse for those days you need extra boost or as a sample to try.

I hope you all try it and love it as much as I do! Let me know your thoughts on it!

Happy

Don’t we all need to read this every day?! If you aren’t doing something weekly that makes you happy, start now! My bestie, Amanda, and I watched the documentary, Happy, last night and were amazed. If you haven’t seen the film yet, I definitely recommend it. Did you know that Americans are on the same happiness level…

as a village in the shanty town of India? A quick exercise they recommend is to write down a list of things you are grateful for. Doing this small gesture once a week can change your entire outlook.  This weekend do more of what makes you happy and if you can’t just watch the documentary. 🙂

On another note I am being feature on one of my favorite blogs everrrrr, Style of Sam! She is one of the kindest people I have ever met. I instantly felt like she was a big sister I could tell anything to from the minute I met her. Check out my SOS RX here!!! I am so excited as it turned out SO cute!

If you missed my posts this week you missed Black Magic. An easy look that can be pulled off with three pieces. You also missed the introduction of one of my new favorite jewelry lines, Mania Mania! Definitely one to keep in mind! I think their jewelry is infused with magic…so mysterious. 🙂

Lastly, I stumbled upon this gorgeous bag and had to share! Love the simple and chic two-tone.
Have a very safe and happy weekend! Big kiss to you all
