BIG NEWS, BIG MOVE

This is a photo of Eleanor and myself looking for home inspiration because we are moving! I have been holding this in for months! My husband did not want me talking about this but after months of pleading I can finally share the news!

What a process and turn of events this has been. For years we always wanted to buy the lot next to our current home and either expand our home or build a new one. Two years ago our neighbor put her house on the market and we jumped at the opportunity to make our dreams a reality. The area we currently live has completely changed in the last 10 years. It was an up-and-coming neighborhood that is now established. The housing values have skyrocketed making it a safe investment, so we decided to start building our dream house. We completed the plans for our new home and started interviewing builders. However, after Eleanor was born, things changed.

My husband works in real-estate and is completely comfortable with the entire process. Me, I felt 100,000% overwhelmed before we even decided on a builder. I felt like I was drowning in anxiety over all the decisions that were to be made. I hated the process and quickly realized it wasn’t for me. So this feeling coupled withe urge for a change of scenery made us decided to stop the building process and look at what was available on the market.

There are only two areas in Dallas I was open to moving to. After touring homes in both areas, we were starting to feel defeated. Either the home needed SO much work or the lot had zero backyard (something very important to use). We weren’t finding the right fit and it was becoming really frustrating. However, I kept telling myself the right home will come. And it did! Brice happened to be on an app at the exact moment this one house popped up. We were obsessed! It had everything we wanted: location, 4 bedrooms, updated, natural light, big windows, separate rooms, a huge backyard, a pool and a game room. And come to find out the house was posted by accident and wasn’t supposed to go live for another two months. We felt like it was meant to be!

We asked to see the house regardless, knowing we couldn’t move in for almost 5 months. We toured it, fell in love, and went under contract. However, this all happened months ago! We now have a few more months to go and I can not wait! This house will be perfect for our family and I can’t wait to make lots of memories!

I have hired a designer to do the interiors and I am so excited to show you everything we have come up with!  Home interiors are my secret passion in life so I am super excited to take you along on this process!!!

  2. I am sooooo excited for you and yours. I don’t blame you for backing out of the other project. We just sold our house in Preston Hollow and moved close by. Much smaller lot. But the remodel and decisions were a killer and we don’t have babies. Can’t wait to see your paint choices and fabric selections!!! And your fur babies will have a nice yard as well! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

  3. Congrats!!! I can’t wait to see the new space come together. Interiors are a favorite of mine too 🙂

  4. Congrats lady! Cannot wait to see what you do with the space as I love the design and decor of your home now!
