I have always been fascinated by photography. I have spent countless hours studying photographs of people, while considering the angles, the lighting, and the editing the photographer used. I love the fact that photography has the amazing ability to transport us to a different time, or place with one single shot.
It was not until I started blogging that I decided to take photography more seriously. With camera in hand, I started experimenting with photographs of my apartment, of friends, and family. It was after experimenting in this way that I realized my passion for photography. I have no formal training or background in this field, but I realize that passion can open your eyes to the impossible, so not only did I invest in the proper equipment I also spent the necessary time to learn everything I could to enhance the skill it takes to be proficient with this passion.
I enjoy, and appreciate the opportunity to photograph bloggers, couples, influencers who make an impact in their profession, families, and also lifestyle type setting. I take an individual approach to each person I photograph. I make every effort to embrace and highlight the focus of what they are trying to convey to their audience with each session.
I look forward to working together and capturing the potential magnificence of your moments through my eyes and the lens of my camera.
During this quarantine I have found some pretty amazing products. From dresses, to hair, to home, to beauty. From the latter catagory one of my favorites has to be the Chanel Les Beiges Tint. It is so light, fresh, and gives an amazing sun-kissed glow. I wear it almost everyday as it also feels very moisturizing on my dry skin. There are three ways to wear it: alone, as a primer, or as the last step. I use it as my last step so my face feels fresh and has a nice glow.
To use: 1. I squirt one pump of the product on my hand
2. I rub it into the tips of my fingers
3. I pat it along the top of my forehead and the apples of my cheeks
4. I use the brush that comes with it to blend the product around my hairline and cheeks
5. Et voilà ! You look like you have been perfectly sun-kissed
2020 is the year of a lot of things but for me it is the year of Blue. It is so weird but I remember 2018 distinctly being the year I fell in love with Pink. I couldn’t get enough of it. I painted my daughters room pink, I bought all pink dresses, and I only wanted pink accessories in my home. But 2020, it is blue. I am loving all shades of it too: french blue, navy, light blue, etc. I am even doing my daughters nursery blue.
We decided to have a couple over for dinner and I had blue on my mind. The first thing I do when I put together a tablescape is to figure out my colors, which was easy since I had just received my Alice Neylor-Leyland “Serena” tablecloth. It is beautiful and the perfect tablecloth for those summer evenings. After the tablecloth is selected I usually play around with different placemats and plates. I really have a lot of fun mixing and matching patters but it was my husband who told me to use this arrangement. To top off a beautiful table I love adding florals and/or candlesticks. They are such a fun way to add texture, color, depth and height. I used these OYOY candlesticks (currently 50% off) that I had as decor in my living room and turned to Pointers Petals to create a beautiful arrangement for the centerpiece.
The evening was a success. We laughed, listened to music, and over served ourselves wine. Everything I want a dinner party to be!
When we moved into this house one of my main priorities for our outdoor area was to make it feel like we were at a boutique hotel. We didn’t have a pool in our old house so I was able start from scratch. I started with the furniture. I researched a lot but was very decisive once I found what I liked. My husband has a very European mentality of, “buy something of quality once and never again.” With that in mind I settled on Serena and Lilly. Their items were not only gorgeous but upon research the seemed to be made with great care. you can read about the outdoor furniture here.
Next on my list was beach towels. I wanted to have beautiful beach towels that my guests would want to use. My mother-in-law has Hermes beach towels and I always love getting out of the pool knowing I get to wrap up in a cozy towel. I had this dream of having a basket of Hermes beach towels so my guest could feel the same way I do when I get out of my in-laws pool. My dream was quickly crushed when I saw the price of each towel! I will save you the google search and let you know they are $580 a towel. My dream would wait.
I ended up going from Hermes to Amazon. I know. I know. I am surprised myself. But I found these striped beach towels “for an exceptional price” that went perfectly with our outdoor furniture. And they were great! We used them almost everyday last summer. And they were so inexpensive I didn’t care if Eleanor dropped watermelon on them. However, I pulled them out to use this summer, and like most inexpensive things, they didn’t stand the test of time. The last few months I have really been struggling with the idea of fast fashion and “quick, inexpensive” purchases. They don’t last and it seems so wasteful to have the mentality, “That is okay. I can always replace it.” I want to learn and stick with Brice’s concept of, the initial cost might hurt up front but if you buy quality, you buy it once.
So the search continued for beach towels to use this summer. I wanted quality but I still can’t bring myself to spend $580 a towel. This is when I got an e-mail from Weezie that they were launching a beach towel line. This seemed too good to be true considering I am a HUGE fan of theirs. I have their robe and bathroom towels and love them both so much. They make beautiful items but always keep quality in mind. This was the exact solution I needed.
I received my Weezie Beach Towel bundle (you can also buy single towels) and could not believe the softness and weight of each towel. They were almost identical to the Hermes towels I had fallen for years before. Ya’ll these towels are STUNNING and for a 1/3 of the cost of ONE Hermes towel, you can get FOUR Weezie beach towels. We have used them almost everyday for the past few weeks ago and I have washed them just as much (and they look brand new after every wash). I am so beyond excited to finally find a towel that I don’t have to sacrifice my wallet for quality. All I can say is, my search is finally over and I got everything I wanted/needed!
