This past July I had the opportunity to travel abroad with my parents and husband. It was a magical trip! We were able to visit my in-laws in Geneva and then head to Normandy (which was my Dad’s childhood dream), Paris, and London. It was a trip of a lifetime and held memories I will never forget! My parents sent my sister and I abroad when I was still in high school and one of the trips we took was to Normandy. We visited the WWII memorials, the beaches of D-day, the American Cemetery, and the churches. It was an unforgettable trip but very emotionally draining. It was something I could say that I did but didn’t have the strength to go back. To see all of the memorials for  boys who never made it home really hits hard, especially the American Cemetery! Coming from a very patriotic family, I didn’t think I had it in me to go back. But my dad has always wanted to see it so back to Normandy we travelled. The entire experience was just as I remembered but one that I do believe every American should have. I took a lot of beautiful photos of the memorials and cemeteries but am still debating on whether I will post them. I did want to share parts of the town Bayeux, next to Normandy. It was so quaint, quiet, and beautiful. It was almost like time had never effected it.  Although I know it was a very different scene 70 years ago, today, it is lovely! The flowers were blooming, the aging buildings were absolutely appealing, and the cobblestone on the street was so charming. It was like a set out of a movie and I absolutely loved it!

I hope you have a chance to make it over there one day. It is an experience that will stay with you forever! If you are headed there anytime soon I do have some suggestions so feel free to e-mail me!

When people ask me to describe my personal style, the word comfortable is usually somewhere on the list. Growing up I used to put beauty before pain and would wear the high heels even though I would be in tears later or the pants “that were really uncomfortable but always looked good.” Now, not so much. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a good heel but if it is a known culprit of pain it is a strictly a cab to curb shoe. There are too many ways to look good and be comfortable in fashion to have it any other way. Now, I know you die hard fashionites are yelling at your computer screen, “fashion isn’t suppose to be comfortable, it is fashion.” To that, I say fashion is personal. Just because I am not wallowing in pain doesn’t mean it doesn’t look good. And lucky for me, and all my other seekers of comfort, track pants are in this season!

These track pants aren’t your junior high athletic pants, but they do rival in comfort. These are skinnier, silkier, and more tailored to your body. Greatest.invention.ever.  I will be wearing these on the plane to my next adventure, grocery shopping, going out at night, and at cocktail hour. Because of the versatile material and look of the pant, I am not sure there is a place these don’t fit in. Did I mention these are the greatest invention ever? I am not trying to come off lazy in the fashion department but if a girl can have it both ways, a girl wants it both ways – beauty and comfort! So to whoever thought this idea was genius, it is! I am sure in a few months I will be telling you to get rid of the track pants and that I can’t look at another pair, but for now, I can’t get enough! Bring em on!
