Tara Wilson Lucite Display

Navy Horse Stripe Picture Frame // Neon Photo Pen Holder

Don’t you feel like there is a trend to cutely display objects (and bonus is if it is lucite)? I am not sure if it is the Pinterest craze or the trend of over sharing (I am guilty), but everywhere I look there is a cute, usually lucite, tray full of odds and ends. And not only do you have these trays filling up space you also have pictures you want to share with guests who come over. It really becomes a cluster *#$&. After our wedding we had lots of pictures we wanted to display but didn’t want the traditional frames overtaking our house.  Two problems equal one solution: Tara Wilson. Her beautiful and very unique way of displaying pictures in household items is genius!

She started her high-end line of lucite photo displays which include trays, boxes, and bookends, after looking around at a cluttered house full of picture frames. Frustrated at the situation and always in need of clever gifts, she came up with the idea of putting photographs in high-end, well-crafted household items. Ya, she’s pretty smart!

I hope you look up Tara next time you need a cool picture display or a unique gift! You won’t be disappointed.

Resourceful Celine Mini

Skip this paragraph if you are prone to getting light headed— What a night the hubs and I had! In his attempt to surprise me with a delicious dinner he proceeded to slice half of his thumb off. Here is the story– I get a rather calm call from him asking when I would be home because he cut himself and needed some help. Brice never calls for help so I immediately knew it is worse than what he is leading on. After racing home with numerous thoughts of how bad it could be and picturing him passed out on the floor from loss of blood (yes I am dramatic) I finally made it to the scene of the crime. I could not have prepared myself for what I saw. It was a true moment of, “okay, you’re okay. Put any thoughts of woozyness out of your mind and help him out.” After many bandages, trips to the pharmacy, and screams of pain, we made it. As bad as it was it was a total, “ah-ha” moment. Have you ever wondered if you would be strong enough to really be there for someone who was in pain? I have. I have wondered what type of mom I will be since I can’t stand throw-up or blood and often get light-headed at the thought of the latter. But, after last night, I know I can step up to the plate when needed. It was one of the worst experiences to see someone you love so much in an incredible amount of pain, but I was so happy I could be there for him! This incredibly long and horrible story leads me to why I am so late posting. I was totally thrown for a loop last night and instead of putting together my post, I was putting pressure on his thumb.

I now have the morning to myself and am just getting around to my posting! I have been wanting to share this mini version of my new bag, but didn’t know how to debut! Isn’t it just the cutest thing you have ever seen? The bag I bought came with a mini pouch for lipsticks, cellphones, ect. so they are easy to find in such a large bag. To be honest, who cares about putting your lipstick in a pouch? I didn’t want this little treasure to be hidden from the world, so I grabbed a chain from another bag and clipped it to this one. I was in the market for a cross-body bag so when I saw the big bag came with a mini version, I was sold! Have you seen such a resourceful Celine? Being that I am not into DIY, I was quite proud of myself! I totally killed two birds with one stone purchase.

Balance and Blushington

untitled-58

Hello readers and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!! I have been waiting all week to say that. Not that this week was particularly stressful but I totally need a weekend to detox and get my life back in order. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do but it really throws you out of your routine, and I.love.routines. I will be taking lots of bloggers pictures this weekend (which I always love doing) and then relaxing (most likely editing) at night. I guess that is one of the beauties and downfalls of this “full-time, freelance, consulting, photographer, I do what I can to make money blogging life.” It never stops. I find the hardest thing is trying to juggle work life, home life, and personal life. I am constantly trying to update social media, thinking about my blog, or worrying about a post. This year I am working on many things but balance is definitely one of them.

Balance: offset or compare the value of (one thing) with another. I have NEVER been good at comparing or offsetting the value of one thing with another. I have a very obsessive personality so when I have a thought in my mind, I can’t let it go. The act of balance is something I have been working on my entire life. Maybe, just maybe, 2014 is the year I finally learn it! Although, highly unlikely as I have been obsessing over getting a new lens for the past two weeks. I mean, day and night, I am looking them up to figure out which one I want, comparing prices, and looking at sample pictures. Call me crazy!

Okay, so this has been a long tangent about things you probably didn’t come to this blog to read but I do have a matter to discuss at hand. I, along with my gal pals, will be hosting a fun event at Blushington Make-up on January 22nd and I would love for all of my Dallas readers to attend. Here is the plan; go ahead and mark your calendars now and rsvp to the e-mail above! This way you know you have something fun to fill your Wed. evening. And to be honest, I am not even sure there are any good reality show on TV Wed. evening so you really don’t have an excuse not to come. 🙂 See you there! xx
