Topshop Metallic Foil shirt, WHBM red pants (amazing pair here and wide leg version here), ASOS beanie, Zara gold heels, Revlon “love that red” lipstick, Ray Ban aviator sunnies, Celine clutch, Gabriela Artigas ring

Hi. My name is Mary and I am wearing tin foil. Basically this top lends you to be a modern tin woman, which means it is a total MAN REPELLER. The first thing my husband said was, “What is that thing hanging in the closet?” The second man to see it said, “Are you wearing tin foil?” Both of these were said with utter confusion. Perfect! Men don’t need to always understand our fashion choices, they just need to take us to fun dinners so we can display them.

This material also comes in a dress and skirt. I was about to pull the trigger on the dress (I thought it would look so cute with otk boots) when I decided the top was more practical. Well, as practical as wearing tin foil can get!

p.s. Since I am in Chicago right now visiting the amazing, Jena, I had to post pictures of my pooch whom I am missing SO much!

p.p.s. NORDSTROM is having their HALF-YEARLY sale and offering 40% off! Go, like now! How amazing is this Theory Randelle sweater (now only $130)

While out to a girls breakfast last week (at one of my favorite gluten-free spots, Company Cafe // Greenville location), my friend Lynsey told me about the new “it” website, The New Potato. She explained how they feature celebrities, designers, chefs, and restauranteurs and have them spill the beans (no pun intended) on their favorite foods, drinks, or spots to eat. Immediately intrigued I bookmarked the site in my head to explore it once I got home.

The New Potato is not only exceptional gorgeous, with their photography, aesthetic, and writing, it is also full of fun interviews and new places to check out. Let me break it down for you. Once on the site you can read an interview by Katie Cassidy about her daily routine and morning coffee, and Meghan Markles (from the hit TV show Suits) favorite foods and hot spots in Toronto. From there you can hop over to the The Foodies tab or The Restauranteurs and read all of the amazing interviews from famous restaurant owners, models, actresses, designers, and editors. Lastly, you can check out my favorite two spots,  The Recipes and City Guide. Basically, everything amazing and yummy is condensed into two tabs for you to follow along in your kitchen or on your next travels!

Moral of the story, GO check out The New Potato! You will not be disappointed!

Hard Partying Party Skirt

Jaimie’s Party Skirt, ASOS leather jacket (I also love this faux perforated version and this embossed version), Zara dress (worn as tank), Jimmy Choo Studded belt (wallet friendly version), Ray Ban Aviators, Gianfranco Ferre shoes, Dana Rebecca necklace, Celine Envelope clutch

You may remember me talking to you about the party skirt last week. I had a sudden urge to purchase something very different than my normal style and the party skirt took the cake. Normally I associate these skirts with super feminine, girly girls. While they are wearing pink, I prefer all black, and when they are sipping on cosmos, I like my gin and tonics. Absolutely nothing wrong with the other half, it just isn’t something I relate to. However, last week I wanted a change. Maybe I needed the change. I have not been secretive about feeling uninspired lately (mentioned here). When these moments hit, you can find inspiration in the most unlikely places, which I did. Thank goodness too, because the party skirt was the double shot I needed to pull me out of my “uninspired fashion” slump.

About the skirt ::I was pleasantly surprised when the Jaimie Party Skirt arrived. The material was gorgeous and the color was so rich. You couldn’t not fall in love! I felt really inspired when I stood in front of it in my closet. So much so that I styled it a few different ways. I am excited to share the looks with you over the next week! I hope you enjoy the break from black 🙂
