Born and Raised

If there is one thing to know about Texans, it is that we are proud people! I loved growing up in Texas, saying ya’ll, eating tex-mex, and going to rodeos. It is an amazing state and I can’t imagine being from anywhere else. When I came across this shirt on Pinterest I knew I had to share it with all my fellow Texan readers! Wouldn’t it be so cute under a leather jacket with cut-off shorts?!
If you aren’t from Texas and still want to rep your state, fear not, The Home .T has got you covered with a selection of all 50 states!

A Night at the Museum

This past year Brice and I have been trying really hard to find unique events around Dallas that we have not experienced. For one, we want to enjoy this city and all it has to offer. And second, it is always fun to do new things with the person you love and to spice up the regular date nights. These new Friday nights have been so fun but also a struggle because I never know what to wear. From concerts outdoors to cocktails in a museum, so many outfits!

This past friday the new Perot Life and Science Museum held a cocktail and gastronomy night where you could sip on cocktails and learn how foods react in your body.  I had a rough morning and was feeling tired all day so I wasn’t in the mood to get pretty and wear a dress. My conclusion: all black.  You can never go wrong with all black. The outfit fit right in and the night was a blast. Moral of the outfit story; when in doubt go with a single tone.

Building The Bedside

I know this is a fashion blog but every now and again I just need to vent about how much work it is to decorate a home. This is where I am now; bedside tables. Where do I begin?
They have been one of the hardest accessories to find. I scroll through site after site, for hours, and still have not been able to find “the one.” I have been turning to inspirational pictures, houzz, and other design sites, to no avail. Luckily, Brice and I met a very nice gentleman who’s niece, Josey, owns a company called, Paloma Creations.  Basically, they help you design and then create your dream piece! What more could a girl ask for! Now, who wants to donate to the “Maison Hafner” fund so I can hire them? 🙂
