Arriving at Masseria San Domenico

Mary Summers Naturalizer-4

We arrived! We (the hubs and I) are finally on our Italian getaway! I have been waiting for this trip for what seems like forever. I imagined this relaxing holiday, staying at a beautiful Italian hotel, and driving from little town to little town. And guess what, that is exactly what it is! I plan to post more about this gorgeous hotel, shall you ever find yourself in need of a little escape 🙂 But for now, the outfit!

I bought this entire outfit right before leaving. While packing I realized I had cleaned out all of my summer dresses and didn’t have one that was “plain and simple”. I had been looking at this Crepe Shift Dress for a while and decided to give it a try! Good thing I did because now I am in love! It comes in over 7 colors and I plan to buy three more! It is the quintessential “dress up or down” (which you know I love) and it is under $100! I have already worn it to a dinner party (hosted by my sweet mother-in-law), exploring Italy, and to dinner last night! It seriously is an amazing dress to add to your closet.

Like I mentioned here, these shoes made it into my suitcase.  The Davenport Naturalizer are too comfortable and too versatile to leave behind. I wore them all yesterday while we explored Savelletri, Italy, and they were a dream! If you have any plans to travel this summer, I recommend checking them out! They are the travelers dream – cute and comfortable!

Ciao! Ciao!

Camilla and Marc Tunic Dress

You may not know but I have a love for tunic dresses. It started in 2012 when my friend Jena made me buy a Thakoon Addition caftan (here, here, here, here and here). I fought her hard on it but she insisted it looked great, so to the cash register I went. At the time I had no idea how much use I would get out of it. Fast forward a few years and I have worn it more than any other piece in my closet. There isn’t a party that goes by I don’t wear it. It has become somewhat of a joke amongst my family and friends. What I love most is that it is breezy and you can dress it up or down. I have worn it as a swimsuit cover-up and even to a fancy wedding.

When I realized I was wearing the seams out of the dress (literally) I decided it was time to invest in a new one. After a long search I bought the Camilla and Marc Diego Tunic dress. I have been a big fan of Camilla and Marc for years so buying something of theirs was a no brainer. I loved the pleating on the back of this dress and the neutral color really makes it wearable. It is the perfect “dress up or down” piece. Just like the original Thakoon caftan the price tag was more than I wanted to spend but knowing I will get A LOT of wear out of it, made it much more bearable. To be 100% honest, I have gotten more of my money out of my $600 Caftan than any other $50 dress I have ever bought so when you put it into perspective, it isn’t so bad. 🙂

It is seriously a great dress and it is already in my bag for my upcoming trip abroad. The only thing I would recommend is to size down. I ordered my normal size and it was a bit big (it is currently at the tailor being altered). Also, if you buy the dress here then the sizes are U.S. but if you buy it here they are Australian sizes, so pay attention!! There is a size chart which helps a lot!!!

A Night With Zsofias, Fashion Veggie & STTS

I am so excited to be hosting an event at the ever so chic and gorgeous lingerie store, Zsofia’s this Wednesday the 25th from 5-8pm. When my dear friend and co-host, Molly of the Fashion Veggie, was presented with this ‘lingerie, champagne and dogs’ event she said the first person she thought of was me. Which I am very pleased that those adjectives brought the idea that, “Mary would be perfect for this event” to her head! That is seriously why I love Molly! She just gets me.

If you are around this Wednesday the 25th come see the beautiful Zsofia, drink some champagne and shop for a good cause! Good Cause? Zsofia has generously offered to donate a portion of the proceeds to Paws in the City – a non-profit, no-kill organization with a mission to ending the overpopulation, abuse, and neglect of Dallas/Ft. Worth area dogs and cats. The entire evening is a win/win!

Also, be sure to ask Zsofia about her new line she is designing. A beautiful range of old school glamour lingerie, all while keeping everything affordable. I have gotten a sneak peak and it is UNREAL! Think bodices with lace sleeves and silk 1920’s rompers. She is so talented and kind, you will get lost in conversation!

***Oh and I must say, if lingerie isn’t your thing (seriously?!) then don’t use that as an excuse not to come. Zsofia’s has EVERYTHING you need! I just bought a t-shirt bra from here that is full coverage and amazing! It seriously cinches me in for that perfect “effortlessly chic” t-shirt look.

Can’t wait to see you there!
