LIght Velvet

Anthropologie top (similar), James jeans, Michael Kors watch, Elizabeth & James sunglasses, Vintage blazer (similar frugal/designer), Steve Madden heels (similar frugal/designer)
Have you ever been staring at your closet with nothing to wear and then all of a sudden something catches your eye? When you go over to look you realize you have a hidden gem you had forgotten you owned. No? Well, happened to me the other day. Peering out through a few shirts was my old velvet blazer, from HIGH SCHOOL (I graduated in ’06, practically vintage).
I paired a lace top under the blazer, although enough to stand on its’ own it is nice to add to the delicacy of the jacket with a feminine blouse. Always go light under a heavy blazer like this one. It prevents you from becoming boxy and stiff, which are two words that should never be associated with a woman’s ensemble.

  1. I agree with your style tip, I often balance my blazers with lighter pieces to help give the look a bit of structure. sidenote: you graduated high school in ’06 sheesh I graduated college in 05, I am suddenly feeling really old.

  2. What a great blazer…you always dress up the classics so well! And yes, I feel like I’m constantly staring into my closet with nothing to wear!
