Remember when I talked about 90’s style coming back? Well, here is another ode to the decade of Kurt Cobain and Britney Spears. In the beginning of the week you got chic, and now you have grunge. I recently read an article, thanks to my friend Jena and Refinery 29, which said to be french do not wash your hair and wear minimal make-up (one coat of mascara during the day, two coats at night). Since I am a known “Parisienne wanna-be,” I have been living my life like this. Baby powder has become my best friend and my make-up that I have spent months investing in has seen little light. So lesson of the day, 90’s grunge and “Parisienne chic,” have one very small degree of separation.

Making 90’s Fashion, Modern

Zara leather pants (similar), Wax effect black sweater (old :: black cropped sweater), Karen Walker Harvest sunniesVince Nina Haircalf d’Orsey shoe,

Man, oh man! Bringing in 26 was a lot of fun (but rough this morning). My head feels like it is in a cloud so I will keep this short and sweet. 🙂

Sooooo, the 90’s are back! Have you noticed all of the platform sneakers, flannel shirts, and jackets tied around peoples waists? I know fashion recycles itself but I did not think we would see the nineties so soon. This look brings me right back to the Clueless days. One of my favorite outfits that she wore was the powder blue sweater over the long white blouse. It always seemed put together without too much fuss. Since we don’t want to relive exactly what we wore in the 90’s, it is smart to add a modern twist on this trend: leather pants, d’Orsay flats, oversized sunnies. Overall it is a really easy look to pull off and something I bet you already have in your closet. Start shopping that closet, ladies!

As for accessories, that is a vintage clip-on earring from my mother-in-law! Quite thrifty, no?

And now, one of my favorite Clueless quotes:

Cher: I’m captain of the Pismo Beach disaster relief.

Mel: I don’t think they need your skis.

Cher: Daddy, some people lost all their belongings. Don’t you think that includes athletic equipment?
