Isn’t this dress fun? I haven’t owned anything like it in a realllly long time as I always thought it wasn’t “my style anymore.” I don’t know what it was about this FCUK dress that caught my attention but I saw it while searching for a dress for a friends wedding. After a few days I went back and bought it (which it is now on sale, lucky you). I justified the purchase because I need a dress for the country themed rehearsal dinner. Since that dinner I have worn it five other times! I love it!
I actually still have a dress from when I was a child that I will never throw away. When I was in Kindergarten I went to school for half days. My mom is the best mom because she always had something for me to do in the mornings before I went to school. We used to frequent this little square in Houston called, Old Town Spring. It was full of shops, ice cream, cafes, and a red caboose you could ride around on. A child’s dream! While walking to lunch one morning I saw the dress of all dresses, at least for a five year old. Some things must never change because even at the ripe old age of five I couldn’t stop thinking about that dress. It was magic. It was red and had a very full skirt that I would dream about spinning and spinning in. It was everything. A few days later my mom placed my in the car and off we went to Old Town Spring. I figured we were just going to get lunch but she pulled up to the same boutique that held my dream. I am not lying when I say I still remember trying it on for the first time. I remember the wood floors, the dressing room, and the woman who was helping us. It was a moment in life – for a five year old who loved fashion. Next thing I knew I was back in the car and we were driving home with my dream dress.
I am not sure why I fell out of love for dresses that you can twirl in – maybe when I hit 13 and everything was “lame.” However, I couldn’t be more pleased with this dress. The first time I put it on I spun and spun around – totally relived my youth! You can see in these photos (the 6th time I have worn this dress) I still have just as much fun as the first! It is great when something can trigger a memory, especially when it is a super cute dress you get to wear over and over again!
