Boots Appropriate

This evening I am headed to a rehearsal dinner where it is “boots appropriate.” Being that I own a pair of English riding boots (from my hunter jumper days) and a pair of fake cowboy boots that I think I got from Steve Madden as a freshman in high school my options are limited. I always love a theme so am disappointed that I don’t have the perfect outfit. I actually bought this dress to wear with these Madewell sandals but when I saw “boots” on the invite – I had a change of heart. I remembered receiving these Sam Edelman Louise boots a few months ago and thought they were the perfect compromise. I love the fringe and they are extremely comfortable for an evening of dancing. I am not 100% sure this is the outfit but it is a definite option! Uhg, I hate these types of decisions!

City Blazer

If you think I have been obsessed with blazers lately- just.you.wait. I have a handful of new looks coming up sharing different looks with two blazers: a navy (under $35) and a black. When I buy a blazer I always add $50 to the price. Why? Because you need to plan on tailoring your blazer. Wether it is a $40 or $400 a blazer MUST be tailored to fit your specific shape. It needs be tailored to come in around the waist and have the arm length and shoulder width perfectly. You can get away with a less expensive blazer as long as you pay to have it tailored. There are a handful of items that I stress the importance of tailoring and this is one of them!

There are sites dedicated to the blazer so if your closet is lacking, look no further! I have done the hunting for you:
ASOS
The Outnet
Old Navy
Gap
Nordstrom
Neiman Marcus
Cusp
Madewell
J.Crew

Here Comes the Sun

Wether you like it or not summer is around the corner. I straddle both sides: I love the vitamin D but hate the Texas heat. No lie, summer in Dallas feels like an egg in a frying pan. You literally melt. I mean, melt! However, in-between the “it is so cold I want to die” and “it is so hot I am going to melt” there is a period of the most glorious weather. That period is now. We have been experiencing 70 and sunny which only means one thing – Yellow! Whenever the weather is beautiful I want to wear yellow. It is a happy color which is always appropriate! Because I felt the weather shifting I went out and purchased these Zara Cropped pants to wear throughout spring. Wouldn’t they look great with a pair of heels and white t-shirt? Since I was on the hunt for yellow at a bargain I stumbled upon this dress (which I bought), this shift dress and this beach cover-up. So wether we are ready or not – Here Comes The Sun!
