Sometimes I think this quote just needs to be read and re-read. It is so simple and powerful, all at the same time. I think it is simply, perfect!

Thakoon Caftan lifesaver

mas-fashion-1 mas-fashion-2 mas-fashion-3 mas-fashion-4Thakoon Addition Caftan (similar dress different pattern on major sale), Celine clutch, Zara shoes (borrowed from my girl Molly), (side note: how gorgeous are these shoes)

I have been running low on energy and creativity lately. When days like this happen, the last thing I want to do is think about what I am going to wear. I bought this Thakoon Caftan (also shown here) with one of my favorite bloggers, Jena, while she was in Dallas last April and it has been a life saver ever since. It is so comfortable and easy. A definite, “no thinking,” kind of dress. Since I have been in one of those slumps lately, I decided to whip this dress out. It moves so beautifully  no one could ever tell you didn’t feel like a million bucks.  Since I don’t want to scare you capture me in it now (picture two day old hair in a bun, lots of dry shampoo, and no make-up), I thought I could share with you a few snaps from NYC. Isn’t it such a versatile piece?

Travel :: Portobello Road Market, London

I had such a fabulous time in London, my only regret is that my stay wasn’t longer. While there we wandered around the city, ate at the cutest little eats in Chelsea and Notting Hill, and discovered parts of the city I had yet to go. One of these new places was Portobello Market. I know it is quite the staple in London, but even after all of my visits to the city I had never been. I am not much of a Vintage or “market” kind of shopper, and it isn’t because I don’t love them, but because I am not very good at them. I find it so hard/frustrating to dig for items that, in the end, weren’t what you thought they were going to be. I wish I was good at this kind of shopping, but alas, it is not one of my strengths. Because of this inability I tend to stay away from these types of places. However, if the market is outside, on a pretty day, on a colorful street in London, I am game! While we didn’t find anything, it was worth every minute to soak in the scene,  giggle at some of the items the vendors were selling (authentic cowboy boots from Texas), and see a London it spot. If you are patient and looking for unique antiques, I would recommend going. If you don’t find anything, like me, you will at least enjoy taking in your surroundings.
