Pure Barre Preston Hollow

I have been very open about my recent weight struggle. The hubs and I have thoroughly enjoyed our first year and a half of marriage – eating out, drinking good wine, and enjoying yummy desserts. I usually can stop myself and make myself hit the gym but this past year I have really struggled to find the motivation to work-out and to jump start this “new lifestyle.” I voiced this frustration to the universe (which I whole-heartily believe in doing) and the next morning I received an e-mail from Britta, the owner of the new Pure Barre Preston Hollow. I had been looking into pure barre for a while because it seems to really yield results (I have literally seen  my friends bodies transform) but, again, really lacked motivation to actually go forth and sign-up. And let me back up and say, once I have my mind set to doing something, I go full force and give it my all. I just need to get to the point of wanting to do it. After meeting with Britta and hearing about Pure Barre I became really excited to take on the challenge. It was the exact push I needed and I couldn’t wait to get started. So much so, I am now a brand Ambassador for Pure Barre Preston Hollow.

I am beyond excited to get started on this new adventure! I feel inspired and ready – two things I was previously lacking. I was able to see the new, and beautiful, studio yesterday and get a few pointers from Britta! My, oh my, will this be a tough but exciting new journey! I will post my progress periodically, which I am sure will be a roller coaster of a ride! Everything from frustration and soreness, to ultimately, results! I can’t wait! I hope to see you all there!

  1. I felt like I was reading a post from my own blog! I also got married a couple years ago and struggled with my weight during our first year of marriage. Cuddling in the morning IS WAY more fun than a 6am gym session… and happy hour and yummy dinners are much better than an evening run… right? I too finally realized something had to be done and I started a Barre class at a local studio… it CHANGED MY LIFE! I can now say 6 months in, I too have fully jumped in – working out 4-6 days a week and loving how it’s made me feel (and look) – and I’m blown away by how much of a better wife and partner it has made me. I hate working out, so to find something fitness related that I can actually say I love is a little nuts… I hope you find that for you too! I am so excited for you and your journey and can’t wait to follow all of your updates!

  2. I absolutely love Pure Barre! I went until I was 36 weeks pregnant & went back a couple of weeks after having my son. I totally credit Pure Barre with not only keeping me in shape during my pregnancy but with helping my body bounce back afterwards too.

  3. I take a Pure Barre class every Sunday and it really for me is the most rewarding work out experience I have ever had. I am kind of like you it takes me a while to get to a place where I am ready to commit to something but once I do I am 100 percent into it. I am glad that you are finding fulfillment in your experience and I hope you get the results you are looking for.

  4. Mary, thanks for being so transparent about your weight struggle. One of the reasons why I frequent your site is that YOU ARE DIFFERENT. I love that you have embraced your body, which I think looks amazing btw. Can’t wait to follow your journey!
