If you have been roaming around the site you have probably discovered “The Find.” On Monday I mentioned a new trend in The Find that you are sure to see this fall – the sweater/shirt combo. This combination was always my favorite growing up. I thank Cher Horowitz for that! She fully embraced this trend throughout Clueless but her pale blue and chiffon shirt, which made her look, “totally serious” was by far my favorite look of the movie! It is one of the most laid-back and easy trends that I have seen in a while and one that I am fully ready to embrace. J.Crew and Elie Tahari are among my favorite designer to create the look but I am sure others will follow! I mean, if it is cool enough for Cher Horowitz, it is cool enough for me!

I just got that same sweater from J.Crew a few weeks ago, but I got it in red. I already love it so much, I am considering getting another. I always love the layered look of a sweater over a button down..but I always have trouble making it look right. So I love this J.Crew sweater does all the hard work for me!
Also I havent had the chance to say, your new site looks fabulous! Love the new design.

Hey Mary loving the new website. I have been with you from the beginning and I have loved every change in vision you have had for your brand. Very excited to see where you take us next. The only suggestion is that for “The Find” post is there a way to make the font bigger. I am having a hard time reading the posts. At first I thought it was the computer I was using but I have tried this on multiple computers and find that the font is still a bit small. Other than that love the look of the new website.
Love the clueless reference!!! Cher Horowitz was (and is) my fashion idol. So naturally I’m on board with shirttail sweaters! P.S. Those wingtail oxfords are just divine. 🙂
I’ve had my eye on one of those shirt/sweaters too! So much easier and better looking than trying to achieve the look with an actual button down. It always comes out so lumpy!

I have been so reluctant to try this sweater/combo, because I’ve seen so many bad versions over the years (just the cuffs/collars/tails sew into a cheap sweater). When I saw this in J.Crew’s New Arrivals, I felt betrayed! This looks so much nicer though!!! Quality materials make all the difference.
UMMM please spill on what filter/photo editing tool you’re using?! I’m LOVING your photos lately. So gorgeous!
