Paris Cafe Scene – Cafe Kitsuné

I often get asked what was one of my favorite things about Paris. I have a vast list of favorite things but one of them is always the cafe scene. I love love love all of the Parisian cafes. They are sleek, original, and delicious. I created quite the nice cafe list (which I will be sharing shortly) but one of my favorites was Cafe Kitsuné (of the Kitsuné brand)!

Kitsuné is known for its funky and carefree clothing and their cafes are no different! With the most outlandish yet completely mesmerizing decor I’ve ever seen in a cafe, it was an experience not to miss! I also loved that at this particular location their clothing store was located just up those stairs (pictured) so I was able to leave with a little souvenir. Two birds, one stone! Not only is their decor something to see but their coffees are divine! After chatting with the barista it seems they only hire the most skilled of their craft which makes for a delicious way to enjoy your crazy surroundings!

Sconset Bluff Walk

Take a bike from the center of town (about 10 miles) or car to this beautiful area of Nantucket Island – Siasconset! I will share more about Siasconset later as today’s post is dedicated to the Bluff Walk! We were actually told about this walk from our chef who is a native of Nantucket. He recommended one of the things we must do is walk the Bluff and I am glad he did! The Bluff Walk is a “foot path only” public walk. One of Nantuckets best kept secrets (and maybe not there for long because of erosion so hurry and go). This path leads you through wild rose bushes and between private gardens. To your left are magnificent homes with the most incredibly manicured lawns and to your right are the best views of the Atlantic from anywhere on the Island.  The path is very personal – at times you are walking through people’s backyards. This 40 minute walk is a must for anyone visiting Nantucket! It is still pretty undiscovered so passing people is rare! Take your time, enjoy the walk, and soak in an unforgettable experience. Just remember to go to the bathroom before starting your journey (I learned this the hard way).

Paris Must Be Felt Not Just Seen

j8hiVPRlG05TMT7HYAbWMv1fqAtQXNvhSD-HR2p01RQ

My fear with Paris is that my eyes and mind will one day forget the beauty. I know I won’t forget the experience but I never want to forget the beauty that is all around me. I find myself staring at sunsets, buildings, and moments longer than normal. I know I won’t remember every detail, for how can ones mind comprehend everything Paris encompasses, it is only the something the soul can feel. I have learned over the past few weeks that Paris isn’t something just to see but it must also be felt. The warm sun beaming on the Seine, the shuffle of the Parisians on their way to work, the buzz at your local cafe, the energy from years past. It is all something to really feel and experience. Paris is one of the only cities I have been to that gives you the feeling of being miles away from normalcy. It is if you took a Delorean back to days past. Almost like you are an extra on the set of a movie. The way the sun shines through the leaves and hits the water, the perfectly aged buildings, the books being sold on the side of the street, the man playing music, and the atmosphere. You must enjoy it all! Because our memories fade, our eyes age, but the way Paris makes you feel will last a lifetime!
